NRL Trivia x Gotcha4Life

Illawarra Yacht Club hosted NRL-themed trivia in April 2023, hosted by former professional rugby league player, Mark Geyer. All proceeds from ticket sales went directly to supporting Gotcha4Life. Gotcha4Life is an Australian not-for-profit foundation taking action by delivering mental fitness programs that engage, educate and empower local communities. We raised over $2,200.

Club Sleep Out 2023

In 2022, our Board of Directors, management and staff of Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club and Illawarra Yacht Club slept out in the cold on club grounds to raise money for the homeless and people experiencing domestic violence, raising over $15,000. In June 2023, our team slept out again to raise money for St Vincent De Paul Food Truck Wollongong which provides food, toiletries, blankets, hot beverages and companionship to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness and social isolation. This year we raised $15,000!

Warrawong High School Fishing Group

With donations to the Warrawong High School, their fishing group were able to purchase new rods, tackle and a new tackle box in 2023.

C.ex Community Crew Sleepout 2022

In partnership with the C.ex Group, Illawarra Yacht Club & Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club staff, board of directors and management team slept out on the club premises to raise money for homeless and domestic violence initiatives in our local area raising over $15,000.

Step Forward For Kindness Challenge 2022

In 2022, the Illawarra Yacht Club & Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club team raised over $3,000 for the Step Forward For Kindness Challenge, organised by Clubs Without Borders, a fundraiser supporting Gotcha4Life and mental fitness.
