Guests
The Registered Clubs Act provides that a guest must at all times remain in the reasonable company of the member who signs them into the club and a guest must not remain in the club premises longer than the member who signed the guest into the club.
5km Radius
To encourage more people to visit local clubs, the 5km membership rule, which required residents living within a 5km radius to become members, has been lifted by the NSW government.
Previously under the 5km rule, residents who lived within 5km of the club were required to become a member or sign in to the club with an existing member. The Illawarra Yacht Club has decided to also
temporarily pause the rule as well, pending changes to
the club constitution in the future.
Should patrons choose not to join the club as a member, they will still be required to sign in as a visitor
as usual. We do still encourage our regular visitors to become members, as for $5 you get a financial year membership, which includes a 10% discount on food and beverages in our club, along with birthday month rewards – a $10 voucher for food or drink, and 2 x $25 raffle vouchers for either our Thursday or Sunday
raffles.
