C.ex Community Crew Sleep Out 2022

In partnership with the C.ex Group, Illawarra Yacht Club & Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club staff, board of directors and management team slept out on the club premises to raise money for homeless and domestic violence initiatives in our local area raising over $15,000.

Step Forward For Kindness Challenge 2022

In 2022, the Illawarra Yacht Club & Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club team raised over $3,000 for the Step Forward For Kindness Challenge, organised by Clubs Without Borders, a fundraiser supporting Gotcha4Life and mental fitness.

St Vincent De Paul Society

Each December, Illawarra Yacht Club & Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club donate hams to the Vinnies Food Van. St Vincent De Paul Society Oak Flats has received over $17,000 over the last 3 years.

Oak Flats High School

Oak Flats High School in conjunction with Conservation Volunteers Australia also received $9,000 in 2021 through OFBRC’s newly developed Category 4 funding through the Club Grants Program.

In 2021, Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club gave $107,408 back to the community.

ClubGRANTS

Each year, Illawarra Yacht Club & Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club fund local community groups by providing financial and in-kind support for beneficial projects, services and programs.

Oak Flats Junior Soccer Club

In 2021, Oak Flats Junior Soccer Club received $1,000 towards new uniforms and to replace old equipment.

Club Sleep Out 2026

In 2026, our Board of Directors, management and staff of Oak Flats Bowling & Recreation Club and Illawarra Yacht Club slept out in the cold on club grounds to raise money for the St Vincent De Paul Food Truck Wollongong which provides food, toiletries, blankets, hot beverages and companionship to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness and social isolation. We raised $15,000.

Beanies and Blankets Drive

Through the incredible generosity of our members and the wider local community, we were proud to donate an entire van full of beanies and blankets to the St Vincent de Paul Food Trucks.
These much-needed items will help provide warmth and comfort to people experiencing hardship within our community.
We’re incredibly proud of what can be achieved when our club and community come together to support those who need it most.
